He also became a licensed lawyer in Texas that same year. After receiving his license to practice law, Richard became an Assistant District Attorney in Tyler, Texas in 1998, where he tried over 80 cases to a jury verdict in both misdemeanor and felony courts.
In 2001, Richard moved back to Houston and began working at a law firm representing personal injury victims, where he tried over 15 cases to a jury verdict, which resulted in the successful recovery of monetary compensation for injured clients.
